Hyatt revealed their annual hotel category changes today. This is the list of hotels that are moving up or down within the World of Hyatt program’s award chart categories. There are no changes to the actual categories or published points requirements – those all remain the same.

The annual changes will take effect on Tuesday March 25 at 8am CDT. There are 151 hotels in total that are changing. 33 will drop in award category while 118 will go up to higher category.

Here is what Hyatt highlighted to us in regards to some of the changes:

Several favorites like Hotel Figueroa, part of the The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand, Zoëtry Marigot Bay St. Lucia, Calistoga Motor Lodge & Spa, a JdV by Hyatt hotel, Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa and Park Hyatt Doha will shift down in category. Members will be able to use an Ultimate Free Night Award at Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort, Park Hyatt Tokyo and IL Tornabuoni Hotel, part of the The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand and several others hotels when they shift to Category 8.

Additional details:

  • All free night award and Points + Cash redemptions booked before 8:00 am CDT on Tuesday, March 25 will follow the current Award Chart regardless of stay dates, even if the hotel is shifting to a higher award category.
  • However, members who have existing award or Points + Cash bookings as of 8:00 am CDT on Tuesday, March 25 for a night on or after Tuesday, March 25 at a Hyatt hotel that moved down to a lower category, will receive an automatic one-time refund on the point difference. Points will be returned to members’ accounts starting Tuesday, March 25.
  • Any free night award and Points + Cash redemptions booked on or after 8:00 am CDT on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, will follow the new Award Chart.
