Following in the footsteps of China Airlines who targetted Senior Flyers back in September and perhaps taking a page from Airline Information‘s 2011 Mega Event which had a conference track dedicated to Marketing to Women Travellers, China Southern is offering a systemwide bonus for members of their Sky Pearl program who are female. This targetted offer awards 380 Bonus Sky Pearl Kilometers per qualifying segment flown by Female Sky Pearl Club members during the month of March. To the best of my knowledge, no other airline has done this yet but I will place a bet that this will not be the last promotion targetted to women as more and more of them have been taking to the skies as frequently as their male counterparts but have been largely ignored as an excellent source of revenue.
As with most promotions nowadays, the promotion does require registration so China Southern will not be doling out points to every female Sky Pearl member flying this month but only those who find out about this offer. For more details on this initiative please visit China Southern
FFB gives two thumbs up to another Chinese airline for a unique loyalty initiative that gives a typical bonus offer a nice little twist.
