Effective Oct 25 (the day CO is set to enter Star Alliance) Continental OnePass members will no longer be able to earn miles on Alaska, Horizon and American Eagle flights. The same goes for Alaska Mileage Plan members for Continental flights. Members of each respective program have until Oct 24 to redeem for reward flights that are valid for one year on the other program’s carrier(s).

This seems to continue the trend of Alaska Airlines not partnering with any Star Alliance airlines. Although Alaska is not tied to one alliance, their strongest relationships are with airlines in the other two alliances Skyteam and OneWorld.
