Avianca LifeMiles are out with their next buy miles bonus. This time the promotion offers up to a 170% bonus. I’m not sure if this is a mystery bonus or if everyone is being offered 170% but that’s what I received At the highest tier of 170% you are paying 1.22 cents per mile and this time that highest bonus kicks in at a threshold of 51,000 miles.
Despite headaches around searching for availability and not-so-good customer service – LifeMiles are an ideal currency for redeeming for flights on Star Alliance as they reasonable redemption rates and in most cases don’t pass along most carrier surcharges. This makes the program very popular for travel in business class (or higher) on airlines like Air Canada, ANA, Austrian, Lufthansa and others.
