Air Canada Aeroplan’s latest buy points promotion provides members with the opportunity to receive up to a 95% bonus when buying points by August 2, 2025. This time the promotion does not seem to be a mystery bonus like the flash offer we saw at the start of the month and is the same bonus for all members (let me know in the comments if that’s not the case!)
The up to 95% bonus offer:
Receive up to a 95% bonus when you buy 5,000 or more Aeroplan points. Offer valid to August 2, 25. Click here to buy points.
- Between 5,000 and 25,000 Aeroplan points will earn 50% bonus Aeroplan points
- Between 30,000 and 70,000 Aeroplan points will earn 70% Bonus Points; and
- 80,000 or more Aeroplan points will earn 95% Bonus Points
Does it make sense to buy points?
When you buy points with a 95% bonus your cost on each point is 1.92 cents (C$) each. If you reside in Canada the actual cost will be 2.01 cents per point or higher depending on which province you live in as GST/HST is applied to the points purchase.
We value Aeroplan points at a minimum of C$ 1.5 cents each but the program does provide the ability to get more than that. If you find the right award flights at the right time and are able to redeem at 2.25 cents per point or more, absolutely, it does make sense to buy points with this promotion!

Wrapping it up
The up to 95% bonus for buying Air Canada Aeroplan points is a decent offer for buying Aeroplan points. Not the best we’ve seen but not the worst either. If you have an upcoming redemption where you will get more than 2.25 cents per point in value then by all means buy the points to give yourself a discount on you travels but otherwise wait until the next promotion.
