Air Canada Aeroplan’s latest buy points promotion provides members with the opportunity to receive up to a 100% when buying points by July 17, 2025. This appears to be a mystery bonus that is revealed to the member when logging in. Others are reporting up to an 85% bonus however I received an offer of up to a 100% bonus
The up to 100% bonus offer:
Receive up to a 100% bonus when you buy 5,000 or more Aeroplan points. Offer valid to July 17, 25. Click here to buy points.
- Between 5,000 and 25,000 Aeroplan points will earn 55% bonus Aeroplan points
- Between 30,000 and 70,000 Aeroplan points will earn 75% Bonus Points; and
- 80,000 or more Aeroplan points will earn 100% Bonus Points
Does it make sense to buy points?
When you buy points with a 100% bonus your cost on each point is 1.875 cents (C$) or about 1.37 centes in US$. For Canadians, the actual cost will come in at 1.97 cents per point or higher depending on which province you live in as you’ll have to pay GST/HST unless paying with a U.S. issued credit card.
We value Aeroplan points at a minimum of C$ 1.5 cents each but the program does provide the ability to get more than that. If you find the right award flights at the right time and are able to redeem at C$ 2.25 cents per point or more, absolutely, it does make sense to buy points with this promotion!
Wrapping it up
The up to 100% bonus for buying Air Canada Aeroplan points is one of the best we have seen in a few month! If you are targeted for the 100% bonus miles and have an upcoming redemption where you will get more than 2.25 cents per point in value then by all means buy the points to give yourself a discount on you travels but otherwise wait until the next promotion.
