Now that the award chart changes from Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan are in effect we also see the airline deliver on its next promise of having award flight sales! When the airline announced the changes back in November they stated they would have quarterly award flight sales offering up to 50% off specific partners, routes or destinations and the first such sale is here.
The inaugural Global Getaways Sale was revealed yesterday and it it provides a discount on the number of miles required for award flights in Economy or Premium Economy Class to the Bahamas, Fiji, Tahiti, Zanzibar, Bali or the Maldives.
And even though the sale page states travel must originate in the U.S., it does appear the sale prices are also applicable to departures from Canada.
For example, here is Vancouver to Nadi, Fiji which is normally 37,500 miles for a one way economy class ticket, available for 20,000 miles:
The sale is available for bookings made by April 30 for travel September 1 to November 30, 2024 and is subject to availability.
