Hyatt has brought out another buy points offer and this time they are back to a discount instead of a bonus. When you buy 3,000 or more points in one transaction they will give a 20% discount on the price. This works out to 1.92 cents per point. However, based on previous pricing of Hyatt points it is currently working out as a 36% discount as there appears to be an error in the standard price of points.
With the lower standard price and the discount the price works out to 1.54 cents (US) per point which is lowest ever seen for World of Hyatt points. We’re not sure how long the ‘mistake’ will be available so best to jump on it right away as the likelihood of them reversing or correcting transactions is minimal. Typically, points.com honors their mistakes as was the case a dozen or so years ago when they had a decimal error for buying Icelandair Saga Club points and we were able to buy $200 worth of points for $20, $500 for $50 etc. and the purchases were honored before they corrected the mistake.
