Marriott Bonvoy is out with another bonus for buying their points. Members who completed a Marriott stay between October 1-December 31 of 2023, are eligible for the 40% bonus. All other members are eligible to earn a 35% bonus.
The bonus kicks in on purchases of 2,000 or more points and is available until March 31, 2024
In the past we have seen this bonus go as high as 60% during the pandemic but I’m not sure if we’ll see that again – at least anytime soon.

With a 40% bonus you are buying points for 0.89 cents US$ each. We value Marriott Bonvoy points at 0.5 to 0.7 cents per point at a minimum. That being said, we always stress it is a minimum. We’ve seen examples where redeeming points provide 1.27, 1.4 or even as much as 2.7 cents per point in value. In those cases in can make sense to buy the points as a cost savings measure against the sky high hotel prices we are seeing for stays all around the globe!
