Alaska Airlines is the first airline to come out with an offer to try to win over disgruntled Delta SkyMiles elite member with a status match.
SkyMiles elite members will have their status matched in the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan program for 90 days and that can be extended through to the end of 2024 by getting an Alaska Airlines credit card or completing a flight challenge. Submissions for the status match must be submitted by October 31, 2023.
Here are the match levels and requirements:
If you don’t have or don’t get an Alaska Airlines credit card you must meet the following requirements within 90 days to have your status extended:
- MVP status — fly 5,000 miles on Alaska
- MVP Gold status — fly 10,000 miles on Alaska
- MVP Gold 75K status — fly 20,000 miles on Alaska
