Porter Airlines is targeting frequent Air Canada flyers with their latest status match promotion. Starting today Air Canada Aeroplan Elite Status Members can request a status match in Porter Airlines’ VIPorter program. With the major route expansion from Porter Airlines they are looking to attract frequent flyers from other Canadian airlines as we have already seen them match WestJet status earlier in the year and now they are after Air Canada flyers!
Status Match for remainder of 2023
Air Canada Aeroplan members with status will receive instant Avid Traveller status with Porter Airlines for the remainder of 2023 as follows:

Aeroplan 25K = VIPorter Venture

Aeroplan 35K = VIPorter Ascent

Aeroplan 50K, 75K, Super Elite = VIPorter First
Porter is even going one step farther and will provide matches based on current year flight segments in member’s Aeroplan accounts:

5 segments = VIPorter Passport

8 segments = VIPorter Venture
-
17 segments = VIPorter Ascent
-
28+ segments = VIPorter First
Fast Track to Elite Status for 2024
Those members who do receive a status match will than have until the end of 2023 to meet reduced qualifying spend (QS) targets so that they can maintain their membership level through 2024:

Passport = $500 in QS (Regular requirement is $2,000)

Venture = $750 in QS (Regular requirement is $3,000)

Ascent = $1500 in QS (Regular requirement is $6,000)
-
First = $2500 in QS (Regular requirement is $10,000)

Applying for the status match
To take part in the status match you need to be VIPorter member (or join the program now if you are not) and then login via the link below. You’ll then need to submit (upload) proof of Aeroplan status or segments via the status match form and that’s it! Porter does state it may take up to three (3) weeks before verification is complete. Applications must be submitted by September 6, 2023
Just like the WestJet status match earlier this year Porter may also give special consideration to applications whose status expired on December 31, 2022 if they provide sufficient proof.
