April 1 Update: Matches to Safar Flyer Gold are no longer available. Silver is still available however.

The fine people at Statusmatch.com have revealed another status match opportunity that they are running on behalf of an airline. This time that airline Royal Air Maroc and you could potentially be matched to have elite status in the airline’s Safar Flyer program and don’t dissuade this opportunity as Royal Air Maroc happens to be part of the oneworld Alliance which counts airlines like American, British Airways, Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways as just some of the partners.

As we have seen with other Statusmatch.com offers (namely the Frontier Airlines offer) there is a fee attached with the status match request. The fee is 49 EUR that you pay when you submit your request. They are currently matching status on a like for like basis (ie Silver to Silver, Gold to Gold – there will not be any matches to Safar Flyer Platinum) with the following airlines:

That’s a pretty big list to choose from and for some programs it will be easy to tell that Silver will get you Silver with Safar Flyer, while Gold and higher should get you Safar Flyer Gold status. I’m not sure of how they are matching to programs like Air Canada however but my guess would be 25K and 35K will get silver, while 50K, 75K and Super Elite will receive Gold (that’s just a guess though!) The offer does state “During the application process, the system will inform you which is the highest status tier that you are eligible to receive.” so you should know pretty quickly what you can get.

This status match offer is in place until May 31, 2022 but could end sooner if they receive an overwhelming amount of requests so ideally you’ll want to apply sooner than later. You should know within 5 days if your status match is approved and if it is approved you will hold status with Royal Air Maroc until March 2023.

If you are matched to Safar Flyer Silver status that will mean you will have oneworld Ruby status which has a primary benefit of being able to check in at business class counters while Gold status will provide you with oneworld Sapphire status giving you access to business class lounges, business class check in, priority boarding and several other benefits when flying on a oneworld airline.

If you are not a Safar Flyer member yet you can join here and then apply for the status match.
