Here’s a really cool offer from Virgin Australia – a type that I don’t ever recall seeing before. I could be wrong though having covered somewhere in the neighborhood of 50,000 bonus offers over 16 years so I don’t remember them all. And that cool offer is earning elite status credits in an airline program for a car rental. Velocity members can earn 10 status credits on their first booking with Hertz in Australia. The booking must be made by December 31 with the actual rental completed by March 28, 2022. The wording ‘first booking with Hertz’ is somewhat vague – do they mean the first booking you make during the promotional period or do they mean your first booking ever that is credited to Velocity as the latter is something we have seen from programs. In this case I would go with the former in that you can only earn this once on your first rental. Additional rentals will not earn status credits. If anybody knows otherwise please do let us know!
