Big news for those of you who live in the U.S.! Today Air Canada Aeroplan in conjunction with Destination Canada and Statusmatch.com have launched a status match offer for those who hold status with any one of six select U.S. airline programs. Once matched the member will receive status until the end of 2021 and then if they complete one round trip flight with Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge or Air Canada Express by January 15, 2022 they will keep the status until the end of 2022.

Here are the programs that are eligible for this status match and the respective level in each that will be matched to in Aeroplan:

This is a really easy status match to take part in if you are in the U.S. if you know you can complete that one round trip Air Canada flight over the next three or so months. Even though the offer is meant to promote travel to Canada there are no rules about flying Air Canada from the U.S. to Europe or Asia or anywhere else for that matter. So long as the flight is eligible to earn Aeroplan miles you should receive the extended status for all of 2022.

The partnership is also interesting in that it appears to be funded by Destination Canada which is a Canadian tourist organization and it is great to see that they are utilizing Statusmatch.com’s platform to run the promotion. You may recall we just covered Statusmatch.com not too long ago here on FFB:

Overall a nice and easy offer for U.S. residents who hold status from one of the six listed programs to match with Aeroplan. The set end date is December 31 but the offer does state there are a limited number of matches so the offer could actually end before then
