Not sure if this is going to be a new trend for Marriott stay offers, but this is now the fourth offer in less than a month where there is a separate bonus offer for elite members and base members (or base and lower elites). We’ve seen two offers in Florence like this, one in Toronto and now this one for Seoul Korea. These offers are for stays at the Courtyard Marriott Seoul Pangyo and run until September 19.
Offer details for all Marriott Bonvoy Elite members:
3,000 Bonus Bonvoy Points for Marriott Bonvoy elite members on any stay at the Courtyard Marriott Seoul Pangyo Click here for more details & to book this offer.
Offer details for Marriott Bonvoy Base members:
2,000 Bonus Bonvoy Points for stays at the Courtyard Marriott Seoul Pangyo. Click here for more details & to book this offer.
The offer prices out the same as the best flexible rate:
In this example you end up paying about US$3 more to get the 2,000 points which are worth about US$14 or 3,000 points being around $21. Not a bad deal.

Korea is 100% mandated masks absolutely everywhere, cell-phone-based very intrusive contact tracing, mandatory 14-day quarantine at your expense with a personal minder (don’t move your phone for a while and he’ll call you), damn near all tourist places shuttered, and generally a war mentality and plenty of virus fear with the impossible goal of zero COVID to boot. In other words, tourism is dead in Korea. They are also considering making the mask mandate permanent regardless of the virus.
They’ve sold their sanity in Korea.
