Hotel bonus offers for Southwest’s Rapid Rewards program are few and far between. Even less so during the past year with the pandemic. Save for an offer with Rocketmiles there hasn’t been much opportunity for Southwest flyers to earn some extra points on hotel stays, that is until now. Granted this is just one hotel in one city but still an opportunity if you need to stay in Colorado Springs during the summer! We checked out the rates for this offer and they do price slightly higher but the value is there for the taking (See below for details)

As you can see the rate to earn the bonus points is $4 more than the member flexible rate but same as the non-member flexible rate. Ultimately you are paying $4 for those 1,000 points or 0.4 cents per point and with an average valuation of 1.3 to 1.5 cents for Rapid Rewards points you would be coming out ahead booking the promo rate – so long as you are not entrenched in the Marriott Bonvoy program!
If you are all about Rapid Rewards points you’d want to make sure you pay for the stay with a credit card that earns Rapid Rewards points or another card that has hotel category spend bonus.
