Alaska Airlines has launched another buy miles mystery bonus that appears to be ‘surprising’ everyone with a 50% bonus. At least that’s the bonus we’ve seen a few people get including ourselves. The actual bonus ranges from 40% to 50% depending on how many miles you buy. Ideally you want to buy so you get that 50% bonus which means you’d have to buy 30,000 or more miles. We’ve seen a 50% bonus a few times from Alaska and even 60% (70% for a lucky few) just a month ago.
Seeing that you can redeem miles for premium class flights on British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Korean Air and more, there are lots of options for you to use these miles. Not to mention oneworld membership is less than half a year away (which could be a good and a bad thing for Mileage Plan miles) In the meantime remember that it only takes 70,000 Mileage Plan miles to fly Cathay Pacific First Class from North America to Asia so you could look at booking now for travel well into 2021.
