From May to August of this year we provided an abundant amount of coverage of Fairmont’s Stay Close promotion. This is where the hotel chain offered every 2 night free (or 2nd room) at many of their hotels in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. The offer never went away but simply trickled down to only two hotels in Mexico when we last checked the offer page about two weeks ago and then boom – all of a sudden as of October 13th Fairmont and parent hotel chain Accor bring it back for a bunch of their hotels in Canada, the U.S., Mexico and Barbados!
The reemergence of more hotels for the Stay Close offer is a sign of the times – now that that summer has passed us by and COVID-19 cases are increasing once again occupancy rates at hotels are falling. The Stay Close offer was initially launched back in May to stimulate stays and now that we are in the low season again on top of this darn pandemic hotels are looking at any way they can generate some more revenue and a get a second night free promotion is a good way to do that. The first go round of the offer did well for Fairmont, or I can only assume so as we alone saw 80+ bookings made for the offer via our Rewards Canada and Frequent Flyer Bonuses sites (we thank everyone who did book through us!) so why not bring it back for these slower times.
The offer is just like before – you book two nights at any participating Fairmont or Accor Hotel in Canada, the U.S., Mexico and Barbados and the rate per night will be halved! You also have the option of converting a 2 night booking into a 1 night 2 room booking whereby you get that second room free. The booking must be made by November 16 for stays from now until April 30, 2021. Now if the past spring and summer are any indication the November 16th date may be extended for some of the hotels and/or we’ll see different hotels come on board for the offer with different booking dates. At the time of posting this the offer has 12 Fairmont Hotels in Canada, 12 Fairmont hotels in the U.S. and 1 Fairmont hotel in each Barbados and Mexico. There are also 10 Sofitel and 21c hotels in the U.S. and the Sofitel Montreal participating in the offer.

As you can see the Stay Close offer provides over $400 in savings on this stay. There are some other offers available with Fairmont like the Stay Longer promotion but that still comes out at over $900 for the two nights.
Each hotel participating may have black out dates for the promotion, for example the Fairmont Banff Springs has December 23-31 blacked out. You can check those dates by clicking on the hotel of your choice on the Fairmont Stay Close promotion page. A fully refundable deposit is required when you do book (check the cancellation policy as it can vary from 24 hours to 7 days prior)
But the value doesn’t stop there! Fairmont’s loyalty program ALL (Accor Live Limitless) are offering Triple Points for all stays in North America (and Central America) until April 15 (must book by Jan 15, 21) You should register for this offer right away via this link so that you don’t forget to do so in the future, plus you have to be registered prior to booking to earn the bonus points. The ALL Accor Live Limitless program awards 25 points per 10EUR spent on hotel stays at Fairmont Hotels (more for elite members) but the bonus will only triple that base earn amount. If we take the above Banff stay at $249.50 per night or $499 before taxes and fees you would be looking at earning around 800 or so points with the bonus. When you redeem points with the program they are redeemed at a flat rate of 2,000 points = 40EUR credit towards your bill so those 800 points earned equate to 16EUR or close to C$25.
