Back in November  TAP Air Portugal’s announced new routes that included flights out of Montreal and Boston. To celebrate the launch of this route and two other new routes Maceió (notably Boston-Ponta Delgada) TAP Air Portugal is offering their Miles&Go members a 50% discount on award tickets.

a white background with black textLike many of these discounted award promotions you actually have to have the full amount of miles to redeem for the award ticket. And once you do redeem you’ll receive a rebate of miles, in this case 50%, back to your account. For this promotion you have to book your award tickets by December 28, 2019 and TAP will give you back 50% of the miles by January 31, 2020.

Here are the standard one way redemption rates for Miles&Go award tickets out of Boston and Montreal:

Economy Class

Business Class

As these are one way you need to double them for a round trip and since you’d get 50% of the miles back the amounts shown above are what you would end up paying for that round trip redemption. 29,000 miles for round trip economy class or 100,000 miles for round trip business class.

If you don’t have enough miles for a one of these award tickets your best bet is to convert Marriott Bonvoy points to Miles&Go n a 3:1 basis. Remember you’ll earn 5,000 bonus miles when you convert 60,000 points at a time (a total of 25,000 miles per 60,000 points) That’s pretty close to getting one of these round trip flights in economy class.
