Wow IHG is just continuing on with their bonuses on buying points! We saw a ‘flash sale’ of sorts that was supposed to end on November 3rd and that was extended to yesterday. Now that the flash sale has ended they have come out with another buy points offer and this one will run longer. The difference this time is that it is not a flat 100% – to get that you have to buy at least 15,000 points unlike the last offer that saw a minimum of 5,000 points. This time if you buy between 5,000 and 14,999 points the bonus will only be 40%. Don’t bother buying points unless you do buy 15,000 or more and ideally you’ll want to buy 26,000 points or more as that is where the lowest price is found. For me it is 0.5 cents per points when you factor in the bonus and buy at the 26,000 or higher level.
Of course one of the best redemption options to use these points on are the IHG PointBreaks offers of 5,000 points per night. The latest list of 100 hotels was released at the end of October and earlier this week that was down to 60 hotels.
