Funniest thing happened today. A buddy forwarded a copy of an article that ran on the design and technology blog Gizmodo. The article How an Engineer Earned 1.25 Million Air Miles By Buying Pudding is a humorous tale about David Phillips, aka the Pudding Guy, a civil engineer who managed to convert about 12,150 cups of Healthy Choice chocolate pudding into more than a million American AAdvantage Miles.
Problem is the story is over ten years old. In fact, the original story even inspired director Paul Thomas Anderson to work it into his 2002 movie Punch Drunk Love.
So why did Gizmodo run it? Maybe it’s just one of those legendary feel good pieces on how to beat the system. Or, perhaps Gizmodo figured reposting the story was a sure fire way to drive web traffic and get people talking about their site.
Either way, reading this story again got me wondering, what are the best Bonus Offers of all time that you have seen or taken advantage of? You know, the types of deal that just seemed too good to be true. Or, the ones that were soooo rich they made you criminal taking advantage of them.
