After speaking with Peter Van Dorn, one of PointsHound.com’s founders yesterday it reminded me of another new online hotel booking service that is awarding airline miles (and lots of them like PointsHound) for booking hotels via them. While PointsHound.com offers thousands of hotels Worldwide, RocketMiles will only be offered at select hotels in top business cities after RocketMiles puts them through a review process. Currently they offer hotels in 15 cities in the U.S..

When you book with RocketMiles you can choose to earn miles with Delta SkyMiles, US Airways Dividend Miles, United MileagePlus, HawaiianMiles, and American AAdvantage. You will earn a minimum of 1,000 miles per night with some reports of offer into the 10,000’s for hotels in Las Vegas. I decided to see what RocketMiles offers with a dummy booking at The Palms Casino and Resort:

As you can see for a 2 night stay Apr 25-27 you would pay  US$189 a night and earn a total of 9,500 United Mileage Plus Miles. Not a bad offering!

The same hotel could be had for less if you book via certain sites but was a little more expensive via many other sites with no miles:

and via PointsHound.com:

So in this case it does look like RocketMiles would be the choice to go with! Of course depending on dates, cities, etc. pricing and mileage earned will change. Add to this the fact that RocketMiles can only be used for bookings in 15 U.S. cities at this time your use of them may be limited. I wish this start up all the best in the future, it should be interesting to see how they do in the crowded hotel booking space!

You can earn 1,000 miles on your first RocketMiles booking if you use my referral link (I will also get 1,000 miles). Feel free to post your referral link below to start a referral conga.
