Not sure how this happens but the airlines of Ukraine seem to make it into my FFB Insider posts quite frequently. I mean they were primarily featured last year as part of the ‘Battle For Kiev’ feature but once again they pop up in my Travel Rewards industry post.

This time it is not for battles in Kiev but for an interesting and unique new service they have launched called “Greeting on Board”. Aerosvit is following in the footsteps of airlines like Air Baltic in creating new and innovative ways to engage customers and then reward them for accepting that engagement.

Invalid request error occurred.

The “Greeting on Board” service allows people to have passengers greeted when they get on board with a personal message over the plane’s intercom along with a bottle of sparkling and 1,000 Bonus Meridian Miles. In the exact words of Aerosvit:

“Passengers of any class of service are invited to choose this service and to order a verbal greeting on board (Just Married Greeting, Wedding Anniversary Greeting, Happy Birthday Greeting, Newborn and Specific Greeting). Greeting is realized by flight attendant, who makes announcement through the loud-speaker and presents the bottle of sparkling wine.”

The new service must be ordered 24 hours before departure and costs 30 EUR with a local brand of sparkling wine or 70 EUR with a foreign brand of sparkling wine.

The bonus miles, while not huge, are nice little bonus to a service that really does not require bonus miles as I would assume most people taking advantage of this service want to announce a special occasion and would do so regardless of the miles.

I give kudos to Aerosvit and to the other small airlines around the world that really seem to be the innovators in creating these new and exciting methods of customer engagement and ultimately customer loyalty.
