The young Ritz-Carlton Rewards program is not running any bonus point promos at this time (their latest to earn up to 30,000 Bonus points ended not too long ago) but they are offering Ritz-Carlton Reward points for the purchase of their GiftCards. Normally Ritz-Carlton stays earn 10 Reward Points per US Dollar spent at their properties and you can double this by using their current GiftCard promo. The promo gives Ritz-Carlton Rewards members 10 points per dollar spent on GiftCards until January 8, 2012. Technically speaking once you use the card for your stay you have earned double points (10 per dollar on the gift card and 10 per dollar spent on the stay). GiftCards can be used at select properties in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean (see here for properties that accept them). There is no expiration on Ritz-Carlton GiftCards and as long as you purchase them by January 8, 2012 you can ensure you are earning extra Rewards points on all your Ritz-Carlton stays.
The GiftCard is also a good way to earn points on non room rate purchases at Ritz-Carlton properties as the cards can be used for dining, spa, golf, dining etc. as those purchases do not earn points in the Ritz-Carlton Rewards program.
