We just received the following email from IHG notifying us that the annual reward night point changes will be released tomorrow
I wanted to give you a head’s up that tomorrow, January 29, IHG will be sharing a Reward Night point requirement update with our members on our website.
Point redemptions will either increase or decrease by 5,000 or 10,000 IHG Rewards Club points at 400 of our more than 5,000 hotels worldwide. All Reward Night reservations made prior to February 17, 2016 will be honored at the current point requirement levels.
Please note that the web page will not be live until sometime tomorrow.
A little under 10% of the hotels are changing with point requirements however we don’t know yet what percentage are going up and what percentage are going down. Depending on the changes an increase of 5 or 10,000 can be quite significant (think of hotels that are at the 10,000 point level) so when the list is posted tomorrow you should look at your crystal ball and see which hotels you should be booking before Feb 17 with points or which hotels you should wait on to book after Feb 17th!
