In what can be described as the largest sign up bonus yet for any credit card, the 110,000 Capital One Venture Miles you can potentially earn is definitely enticing. The promotion goes like this, you get 10,000 Miles simply for applying for and receiving the card. Then, Capital One will match up to 100,000 of your airline credit card miles (technically speaking this means 100,000 miles earned with credit card that has airline branding) if you spend $1,000 on the card within the first 90 days. There are certain restrictions, such as the matching of only U.S. based airlines (Alaska, American, Continental, Delta, Frontier, Hawaiian, JetBlue, Spirit, United, US Airways, Virgin America, Air Tran or Southwest) and as stated above it is supposed to be based on mileage earned from the credit card, however Gary Leff (View from the Wing Blog) has done some leg work for the rest of us and it appears that all you have to be is a credit card holder from one of the airlines and they will match the balance off your frequent flyer statement whether or not all those miles came from the credit card. The last catch? They are only giving away 1 Billion Venture miles, so this offer may not be around for too much longer if everyone who signs up is going for the full 100,000 miles (ie 10,000 people)
