A few weeks back we were the first to bring to light the Air China / Marriott offer that gave instant Gold Status with Marriott and now while this offer does not have status attached to it, Air China Phoenix Miles members can benefit from stays with Starwood hotels. The major hurdles I can see here is that it is strictly for new Starwood Preferred Guest members only and apparently is a targeted offer for certain Air China Phoenix Miles members. (The registration page is in Chinese only and I am going on Google’s translation of it, so if any of our Chinese readers are able to clarify this please let me know!) However as I hope all of you know, despite many offers being targeted they still work for some if not all the people who sign up for it. If it works for you great, if not well it was worth the try.

Anyways, the offer as we posted to our  Phoenix Miles Bonus Kilometers Opportunities page  is as follows
Earn up to 9,000 Phoenix Miles Kilmoeters or 9,000 Bonus Starpoints when you join Starwood Preferred Guest and complete a minimum of 3 nights at Starwood Hotels Worldwide. You earn 3,000 bonus Kilometers or Starpoints for every 3 nights up to 9 nights total until Mar 31, 11.

So although you have to join Air China’s Phoenix Miles program (I’m sure many of you did for the Marriott offer) you do not have to earn Phoenix Miles, you can choose to earn Starpoints.
