The newest set of Air France KLM’s Promo Rewards have been released with some much better deals this time. We have
provided lots of coverage on the Promo Rewards before but a quick
reminder of what they are. They are discounts on award tickets for
travel on Air France, KLM and occasionally other Flying Blue airlines
like Kenya Airways. The discount ranges from 20 to 50%
off the regular amount of miles required. Back at the start of June Flying Blue changed its redemption method from flat rate miles for a region (ie North America to Europe) to variable pricing on city pairs. What this means is that previously you could fly on an award ticket and connect, say Toronto-Athens via Amsterdam for the same amount of mile as just Toronto-Amsterdam. With the new system a routing to Athens would not work that way as it will price differently than just YYZ-AMS.
Now onto some highlights from this month’s offers! The new point to point variable pricing has made some Promo Rewards a better deal than they used to be under the old redemption system and some of the ones to check out this month are Edmonton to Amsterdam with 50% off business class (30,500 miles each way!), 50% off economy class between New York and Paris Orly (11,000 miles each way) and 50% off premium economy between Paris and Bangkok
