This is all part of their 1st anniversary celebrations of their revamped frequent flyer program. You can buy up to 20,000  miles in one shot for 700EUR. That means you’ll end up with 60,000 miles or paying about 1.16 EUR cents per miles. You can buy a maximum of 50,000 miles annually so if you haven’t purchased any yet you can walk away with 150,000 miles with this promotion.

Also TAP does run discounted award ticket specials during the year where the value could be much higher. In fact they had 50% off to launch this first anniversary celebration and it looks like one more may be coming as part of the celebration:

  1. Yesterday it was better because they were wrongly selling for 1/3 of the price, which means you would pay 1/9 of the price for each mile!

    They decided to take the purchase off the site to “fix” the issue, then they took the miles away from who got triple miles and today decided to give back the stolen miles…

    Which means people could have bought each 1k miles for like 2 euros…
