FFB News Round Up: Major changes to BA Executive Club, United changes partner airline earn rates, Air Astana introduces Economy Sleeper
United is changing mileage accumulation rates for flights on their partner airlines as of March 1st. Some premium classes will earn more miles and as one could expect discount economy fare classes get beaten up big time! (Source One Mile at a time)
As of February 3rd Air Astana is adding a new inflight service to their flights between Astana and London, Frankfurt and Paris. Called Economy Sleeper, the new concept will block off three economy class seats for one person and those seats will be fitted with a matress cover, duvet and pillow so that you can sleep across them. Kind of like Air New Zealand's SkyCouch but not really. (Source Air Astana)
British Airways announced some major changes to the Executive Club program coming this April. Mostly bad news as many premium awards are going up in price, some tier bonuses get reduced but on the flip side some premium revenue tickets will earn more Avios and there are now lower off-peak awards for British Airways flights.
