It appears Delta is rescinding their cap on points transfers into the SkyMiles program. According to Gary Leff at View from the Wing they have removed the 250,000 cap on the number of miles that can be transferred in a calendar. This is good news for those of you who use SkyMiles and like to transfer in from programs like American Express Membership Rewards.

Delta Airlines has also eliminated free drinks for Elite members in Coach. (Source: View from the Wing)

Japan Airlines appears to be first airline to lower their Fuel Surcharges in response to the big drop in oil pricing! Hopefully but more than likely not we'll see some other airlines follow suit? JAL tickets issued on or after Feb 1, 15 will see the reduced surcharge. How big is the reduction? Nothing significant but nothing to complain about either. For example a ticket from the U.S. to Japan will see the surcharge decrease to $173 from $259. (Source: Frequentflier.com)

So what do you do? Try to book those that are going up now while waiting to book hotels that are going down to after January 22nd if you can! Here in Canada, two properties are changing. The Hyatt Regency Toronto is going from Category 2 to Category 3 while the Hyatt Regency Montreal is moving down to 2 from 3. Find all the details here
